Alexander's Angels 5th Long Island Buddy Walk
Mickey's 5th year (sort of) at the Long Island Buddy Walk!
5 years ago we attended the First Long Island Buddy Walk while Mickey was still in 'Mommy's belly'. A little over 4 months later we were blessed with our little Mickey. Mickey has had a tough time his first couple years but the last 2 he has made great strides in getting healthier and MUCH MUCH stronger. All of our family and friends have many different nicknames for him. His sister Samantha calls him 'The BEAST'. He's known as the Mick, Mickah, Magoo, Monkey, and of course Aunt Traci call's him, " her favorite". All these various names from the people that he loves most, EVERYONE!
His infectious smile and incredible demeanor lights up everyday for us. No matter where our minds may be his simple smile and goofy personality make everything seem a little less overwhelming and a lot less important. He reminds us what it is REALLY all about.
Many of you have helped us with donations in the past. Some of you might be new donors (always welcomed). The fact is you are helping Mickey and the thousands of kids like him with Down Syndrome. Your donations go to help Alexander's Angels cause of raising awareness and acceptance for people with Down Syndrome. Mickey will be a productive member of society because of the love and support of all of you.
Any people wishing to join us on October 1st are always welcome to come to the park. Due to an unfortunate move by a greedy catering company, there will be NO FOOD provided this year as in years past. So please bring your lunch and anything you might want to snack on and drink.
