Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
First, a little background about myself. I grew up in New Orleans, La, and studied Political Science and History at the University of Pittsburgh, which I graduated from in 2010. I had known for years that I wanted to work abroad after finishing up school, and I ended up deciding to teach English as a Second Language in Saigon, Vietnam, where I've been living since September, 2010. I'm still teaching, and I also write for a prominent monthly magazine called AsiaLIFE, which features travel, culture, and lifestyle articles geared towards the expatriate community.
In February 2012, I'm taking part in the H2H Charity Ride. H2H stands for Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon's official name), and 20 cyclists (mostly expatriate English teachers) will ride the 2,000 km, or 1,200 miles, between the two cities. The journey will take up the entire month, and will undoubtedly be an unforgettable life experience for all involved.
H2H supports three charities based in Saigon: the Saigon Children's Charity, the Children's Initiative, and the ILA Community Network (ILACN). All three pledge to support Vietnam's poorest children through education and healthcare. They are worthy causes, and each H2H participant is required to raise at least 750 USD for the organizations. Personally, I want to raise far more than that. Here's where you come in.
Simply click the 'Donate now' button, and you're on your way to helping out some children that really need it. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts for H2H.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
