We have created this page in conjunction with our 2nd annual fundraising event:
Our "Kick Off to Autism Awareness Month" fundraiser was a huge success and we want to thank all of the 150 attendees or anyone that donated online from the bottom of our hearts!!! We are still in awe as to how much we raised at the event. The grand total was $20,555 which is huge in comparison to the $8,000 we raised last year. We again want to thank those who battled the lovely weather to join us and we once again have been told by several of you how much fun the event is and that makes us so happy to hear.
We not only raised money for an excellent organization, but also brought greater awareness and understanding of this rapidly-growing epidemic affecting our nation's children. This site will be live till early July if you would still like to donate.
Our fundraiser was in honor of our daughter Caelan, who is 7 years old and was diagnosed with autism in November of 2006. Autism affects every 1 in 150 children; it’s the #1 childhood epidemic. All proceeds will go to Generation Rescue, an international movement of scientists, physicians and parent-volunteers researching the causes and treatments for autism and mentoring thousands of families in recovering their children from autism.
Caelan has responded positively to several types of bio-medical treatments that have helped her get to where she is today! Michele is in the Rescue Angel program that helps local parents understand their new diagnosis of autism and assists with options to start the recovery of their child. Visit the Rescue Angel link to see what symptoms Caelan has overcome and what types of therapies have helped her.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. Your donation is tax deductible.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
Love! Michele, Pete, Caelan and Kiera
We'd like to thank Amada, Caelan's aunt, who set up a corporate Jeans Day and raised $806 which is included in our Offline Donation total!!!
