Women Helping Battered Women's

3rd Annual Run for Empowerment!

Saturday, June 26th at the Burlington waterfront, children, families, and runners of all ages will participate in the 3rd Annual Run for Empowerment to benefit Women Helping Battered Women!  There will be something for everyone, including a 1K kid's fun run, 5K walk/run, 10K run, and spectators!  This event features food, fun, and fabulous prizes! 

Please sponsor this event through this website!! Donating is simple, fast and completely secure. Any and all donations are welcome! We are suggesting a donation of $35 from individuals, $100 from families, and $500 from businesses. All donations are tax deductible and you will receive a receipt after you hit the submit button and by email.

How far will your dollar go??

  • $25 - ensures that one caller will receive hotline counseling, emergency planning and emotional support any time, night or day.
  • $50 - provides one woman or child with emergency food, a safe place to stay and transition assistance.
  • $100 - provides a child affected by domestic violence with educational playgroups and support groups for a month.
  • $500 - pays for the legal advocacy for a woman and two children to remain safely in their own home.
  • $1000 - provides workshops and educational material for 100 young people in our community.

WHBW is the largest service provider for abused women in Vermont and serves victims of domestic violence in Chittenden County. In addition to providing emergency shelter and housing advocacy, WHBW offers 24-hour hotline services, legal advocacy, programs for children and educational outreach programs.
