Thank you for visiting my fundraising page for the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center! I appreciate you taking the time to consider sponsoring me in this walk.  BARCC is the only provider of comprehensive rape crisis services in the greater Boston area. They provide free services to survivors, family members and the community at a time when help -- trained, effective, and caring help -- is not just needed, but essential.  

This has been a busy year for me.  I joined the BARCC Speakers Bureau, and also went to DC to participate in a focus group to help the federal government better work with communities who are attempting to address the rape kit backlog plaguing our cities and denying survivors justice.  I met some incredible women and felt very lucky to have been included. 

There's an old Groucho Marx line -- I wouldn't want to be a part of any club that would have me as a member.  I would have thought there's some truth to that, in that any survivor would wish they never had to wear that monniker.  Yet, I have to say that I felt honored to be sitting with people who had endured what many would have thought was unedurable, and then used their voices to try and make meaningful change in the world.
