Michelle Donovan's Fundraising Page
Thanks for visiting my page in support of Huntington's Disease. We have done the walk in the past. The picture on the left is from the 2009 Walk.
For those of you who don't know what Huntington's Disease (HD) is, it is a devastating, hereditary, degenerative brain disorder for which there is, at present, no effective treatment or cure. HD slowly diminishes the affected individual's ability to walk, think, talk and reason. Eventually, the person with HD becomes totally dependent upon others for his or her care. Huntington's Disease profoundly affects the lives of entire families -- emotionally, socially and economically.
HD has greatly affected my family, my grandfather had it, my dad has it, and I have a sister who is gene positive which means she will develop the disease. It also means her children have a 50% chance of inheriting the disease. It has affected my extended family as well, cousins, aunts, uncles.
Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to make a contribution to our fundraising efforts. Your are also welcome to write a check to HDSA and mail it to me at home: 430 Dolores Drive, Collegeville, PA 19426. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
