Michelle's Fundraising Page
In 1998, my son Douglas died of cancer. I was completely devastated by the loss. I channeled my grief into worthy causes and began to volunteer in the community.
It has been 10 years since Douglas died and I want to do something this year to honor his memory and positively impact in the lives of other sick children and their families. The mission of Ronald McDonald House resonates with me - to create a home-away-from-home and supportive community for families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving specialized treatment at local hospitals.
As a member of Team RMH, I will start training in August and run in the Big Sur Half-Marathon on November 15th. I have been tasked with raising $1,800 of which over 75% goes directly to support programs at Stanford's Ronald McDonald House.
I'm asking my family and friends to give generously to this wonderful cause - in memory of Douglas and in support of an incredible cause which impacted the lives of over 400 families at RMH Stanford in 2008 alone.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
