I will be running the Disney Half Marathon in January in honor of my mother and to raise money for the Marlene Scribner Award at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital that also honors the memory of my mother, who served as an RN for 29 years at the hospital.

Marlene Scribner Award
An award has been established by her family in memory and recognition of Marlene Scribner, a beloved and dedicated employee of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital for 29 years. Marlene was admired for the positive spirit and attitude she brought to work everyday-this unique spirit touched those around her throughout her career at Spaulding.
Marlene used her intimate knowledge of what her patient's needed, her extensive skills, and an uncompromising work ethic to drive and design an effort that resulted in the creation of a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and effective anti-coagulation program that is now the standard for all SRH patients.
This award honors Marlene's superb professionalism, her unremitting patient advocacy, and (most importantly), her on-going and relentless enthusiasm and dedication to excellence in nursing, to the inter-disciplinary roles and interdependencies that comprise Patient Care Services and to her passion in mentoring and developing new nurses.
This fund sends a registered nurse to the annual ARN Conference each year.
