As I sit here thinking of how to tell you about the great work done by the Cleveland Animal Protective League (APL), I have my sweet Blackjack snuggled up next to me. He is my official “APL kitty”, but over the past 4 years, I have met and worked with so many animals I have had the opportunity to help in some small way – thinking back brings a smile to my face. :-)
Without the APL, the nearly 17,000 animals that came through their doors in 2011 alone (through admissions, adoptions, humane investigations, dog transfer, and spay/neuter programs) might not have had a new chance at a good life. Many of those animals were surrendered because their loving owners could not afford to care for them anymore. Some were found wandering the streets with nowhere to go, and had never experienced any kindness before arriving at the APL. And unfortunately, over 400 arrived in 2011 after being rescued from reports of cruelty and neglect.
And that’s where you come in. Without the APL, the animals might not have an opportunity for a second chance. But without YOU, the APL would not exist! The Cleveland APL is the largest Humane Society in Northeast Ohio, and has been serving the community since 1913. They receive no government funding for their services, and therefore rely on the generosity of YOU!
Many people turn to the APL when they need help. And now is your opportunity to help the APL. Your dollars go directly to providing comfort and medical care for animals that find themselves abused, abandoned or lost.
“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” (Mahatma Gandhi). We are so fortunate to have such a great place to take animals when they need help. With your support, the Cleveland APL can continue to help animals in 2012 - and hopefully for at least another 100 years!!!
On behalf of the animals, we thank you so much for your support!
Sincerely,
Michelle =^..^=
