About the Calls for Kids Telecast

The Calls for Kids Telecast, hosted by Nashville's News 2 personalities and local celebrities, raises funds for the programs of Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of Nashville, including the Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Room.  All funds raised through the Telecast are used locally to support the mission of RMHC of Nashville.

The Telecast is our best and biggest opportunity to highlight our programs, the families who utilize our programs, and the companies and organizations who fund our programs each year.  During the three-hour live event, production is divided among the phone bank where volunteers, prominent community leaders and local celebrities field phone calls from donors, live and taped interviews with families, live and taped interviews with donors, and video segments that give viewers a closer look at our House, Family Room, the pull tab program, and our unique quilt program.   

How Can You Help?

-Serve as a VIP by setting a goal to raise $1,000.  RMHC of Nashville will provide sample letters, emails and supporting materials for you to ask for the support of your friends and family. 

-Participate as a “Minute-Match” Sponsors by providing $1,000-$25,000 to match one to 25 minutes of the Telecast

-Donate an incentive prize that callers receive for making donations at various levels (minimum value of $500)

-Help secure local personalities and celebrities to sit on the phone bank

Why Should you Support the Telecast?

You're helping the many families of critically ill children who need the ongoing services provided by our 32-bedroom House and the Ronald McDonald Family Room located on the 5th Floor of the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.  More than 11,500 families have benefited from the Nashville Ronald McDonald House and more than 225,000 individuals have visited our Family Room at the Children’s Hospital.
