Michelle Rush
Friends and Family,
Earlier this year I started volunteering at Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) as a Board Member and a Big Sister. BBBS is a non-profit organization that matches carefully screened adults to serve as positive role models and mentors for youth facing adversity. I am a Big to a 9 year old girl. She is a very lovable and hyperactive youngster, who suffers from low self esteem and poor self image. We hang out for a few hours together each week and do healthy and uplifting activities, like hiking Mount Helena, swiming at a local pool, making handpuppets, watching Christmas movies and cooking - Katie learned to crack eggs for the first time with me. This month is BBBS' annual bowling fundraiser and I am asking for your financial support for this cause that I really believe in. Money raised helps conduct the background, criminal and reference checks, as well as ongoing monitoring of the Big, Little and parent to ensure it is a healthy and meaningful relationship. BBBS also organizes some of our events, such as Halloween and Christmas parties.
