In honor of my best friend and cousin- Michelle D. Shaw 1968-2005

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

In honor of my cousin and best friend- Michelle D. Shaw, we are walking to raise money for Sickle Cell. Sickle Cell can be a deadly disease, but it doesnt have to be. We are searching for a cure so we don't lose anymore Michelle's in this world. This walk is helping to raise money for that cure and to support others that live with the disease every day.

Michelle was a special person to me and my family. She was a loving and caring person. Although she had this disease, this did not stop her from achieving her goals which included graduating from college with a bachelors and then graduating with a masters degree! Michelle taught elementary school and her students loved her. She brought wisdom, charisma and extreme confidence is everything she did. Michelle has a wonderful daughter, Joi, who is the light of all of our lives. Although Joi was only 10 when her mother passed, Michelle was able to instill values in her at a young age that Joi still lives with today, 7 years later.

Pleae support in any way that you  can. Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
