The Special Operations Community has always held a very special place in my heart.  I have always wondered how I could contribute to its cause from a civilian standpoint, and this is why I have started the "Money for Miles" hike.  This event is being held for the third consecutive year with hopes of surpassing the past two years, as far as funds earned for the children of these brave warriors.

     The Fundraiser is being held on November 7, 2009, and anyone and everyone is welcome!  There is an 8 hour time slot to complete as many miles as possible on the North Coast Inland Trail in Elyria, Ohio.  The event kicks off at 0800 in the morning and the cutoff time is 1600 in the afternoon, (8AM-4PM).  There are a few participants who ruck in full military uniform with a 55# pack on their backs, (this allows us to add the "Special Forces flavor" to the event); however, participants may walk or run for any distance or amount of time desired.  There are periodic checkpoints with snacks and water to supplement energy lost along the way. This is a great event to help you attain your physical fitness goals or to just come out and enjoy the day!
