This will be my third 24 hour meditation marathon and I couldn't be more excited. Not only is it an opportunity to push my own limits, transcend my mind and discover the deepest dimension of my self, it is an opportunity to do so with hundreds of others and support a cause to which I have committed my entire life - the evolution of consciousness and culture.

It is clear to most of us that we stand at a crossroads in culture. Old worldviews lie behind us powerless to motivate the best and the highest in us and a new worldview, an overarching "metanarrative" which embraces the leading edge of human knowledge in all fields, respects humanity's diversity and provides a coherent picture of the cosmos and our place in it, has yet to emerge.

EnlightenNext has, over the last 25 years, been one of a group of cutting edge organizations creating the kinds of dialogues between leading edge thinkers from a variety of disciplines - science, philosophy, technology, religion and many others - to begin to explore what such a worldview might look like. And the inquiry generated by EnlightenNext and some of its collaborator organizations has begun to have an impact in the culture in the form of an emerging "Integral/Evolutionary" worldview (see www.enlightennext.org for more).

Of course such an endeavor costs money and is unlikely to produce a financial return in the immediate future. The fruits of such inquiries are cumulative over time and require taking a long view. Which means that the funding of such explorations must come from individuals committed to making them happen for the sake of the betterment of our future and the fruition of the emergent potentials latent in the depths of our humanity.

For this reason I, along with several hundred others, will meditate for 24 hours as a demonstration of our commitment and hopefully a source of inspiration for others. Supporting me in this endeavor would not only mean a lot to me but would directly support a variety of ongoing efforts to effect positive cultural change in the world.
