Bowl For the Kids is an anual event where we come together to celebrate our work, collect support from our community, and remember one of our most promising youth who fell victum to his environment, Marcus Law.

On April 30, 2006 Marcus Law, a former City of Dreams mentee, was gunned down and killed coming home from a friend’s barbeque. Marcus was described by those who met him as “intelligent”, “articulate”, “well-mannered”, “respectful”, “bright”, “a leader”, and with “all the potential in the world.”

Donating $10 through this website helps us to do well by Marcus' memory by continuing to empower our youth in his community to become positive change agents, capable of improving their future and the future of their community.

Our goal is to help our youth accomplish their dreams by seeing them graduate high school and avoid gangs, drugs and teen pregnancy. 

Almost every Saturday of the year we take our youth out on experiential learning events (sailing, rock climbing, poetry workshops etc.).  Each event is tailored to a specific life lesson and designed toward positive youth development through the exposure to new environments, experiences, and possibilities.

We also match our youth with a caring one on one mentor who provides critical support and attention, helping their mentee to stay inspired, focused, and appreciated. 

We work with schools, parents, and other community organizations to make sure that our youth have access to community resources and to growing opportunities beyond their graduation from City of Dreams. 

Our programs work, but depend upon your support.  You can help to give our youth the experiences that will last a lifetime and the support to reach their goals!
