Dear Friends & Fans of Special Olympics, Montana...
In just a matter of days - August 23 to be exact, I will go "Over the Edge" for Special Olympics Montana. Over the Edge is a unique fundraiser that invites people to rappel down the face of Montana's tallest building - the First Interstate Bank Tower in Billings - for the benefit of more than 2,000 Special Olympics Montana athletes and for the opportunity to serve 10,000 more eligible people with intellectual disabilities in this great state.
Thanks to the generosity of many cool sponsors - Special Olympics Montana has exclusive access to the top of this building so "edgers" can rappel 19 stories and 265 feet from top to bottom. Whew! My son John, who serves on the Special Olympics Board of Directors, will also be going "over the edge"...
To do this event, each participating edger must secure Pledgers. My goal is to raise a minimum of $5000. To rappel the distance and reach the ground (safely, I hope) I need your help....
Might you make a pledge today? Simply visit my pledge site at: http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/mimiparkes/OTE to make a donation. Donating through this firstgiving webpage is simple, fast and secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts. All funds raised stay in our great state of Montana.
If you are reluctant to give electronically, simply mail your donation to SOMT (PO Box 3507, Great Falls, MT 59403) with a note that your donation is in support of me.
Thanks, in advance, for pushing me Over the Edge so that we can take the edge off the challenges Special Olympics Montana athletes experience everyday to live full, meaningful lives!
