It's that time of year again...

Dominic is out on the search for people to join him in the 9th Annual Brainstorm Run/ Walk.   We all had so much fun last year and want to make this year even better!  Therefore, if you missed it last year OR are just looking for a new cause to walk for this year we are excited to have you and welcome you to be a part of Dominic's Dream Team.

This year has been very bitter sweet for us.  Dominic has gone from being seizure free to seizure controlled.  He continues to fight through with more strength and endurance than we could ever imagine but has also been challanged with seizures so tremendous that paramedics needed to be involved because even with his emergency medicines we could not control and/or stop them. 

Needless to say, we again reflect on all of the positive things we have in life and again we feel blessed to be in a place that Dominic has the chance to finally experience life and not be seizing 125 times a day.  A place where he can smile and laugh instead of just being sedated because things were so bad.  A place where he can be outside or at the zoo and not be overstimulated due to all the noise.  A place where he continues to be loved and supported by all of you, because all of you are the REAL reason why he continues to have his place.

We know many of you have chariatable causes that you give to and in these rough econimic times we realize it is hard to think of "giving" but please remember anything that you can "give" will help to improve someone like Dominic's life and will support families like us who have to deal with this heartbreaking medical condition.

As a side note, I would like to give a GREAT BIG HUGE THANK YOU to Hillside Elementary School for their very generous donation of $2057.13 in Dominic's name to the Southeastern Wisconsin Epilepsy Foundation.  You have all been so supportive to me and my family in the past 3 1/2 years.  I truly am blessed to have you all in my lives and am so greatful to have such a wonderful place to go to work everyday.  Words could never express my sincere appreciation.  Thank you to all the students and staff who allowed the craziness for four days and did something for others.
