Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!
The Conservators' Center fills many important needs in our central NC community through providing educational programs and tours, providing homes for animals in need of rescue, and training future animal caregivers.
Our Center has been growing quickly over the last several years. This year we made the difficult decision to strictly limit the number of new rescue animals we could accept while we focused on creating better habitat for the residents we already have.
We have continued to do what we can for the rescue community, accepting an older male tiger on the verge of euthanasia (he can come live with a single female who already has a home here), a group of three servals (who lived in the neighborhood and kept escaping), and a few other animals who really needed the special care only we were willing to provide. You can read about them on other FirstGiving pages and on our web site at www.conservatorscenter.org.
We have also provided programs for thousands of children this year, both on and off site. One of our ambassador animals, Sammy Serval, has met over 2500 children since this summer! He has made appearances at the Ocanneechee Tribal Festival Days, the Dogwood Festival of Mebane, and Science Centers and Museums around the state. He especially likes classroom visits, where he gets to meet small groups to demonstrate the importance of conservation one-on-one.
We continue to support programs in other countries through providing staff husbandry training, sponsoring attendance at important conferences, and providing e-mail based support in critical veterinary situations.
Our most important need this year, during these tough economic times, is to simply keep going. We have made the commitment to care for these 90+ animal residents, and they depend on us for everything from food to shelter, veterinary care to enrichment, and the individual nurturing we provide our residents in a way that assures each one that he or she is special to us.
Please, help sponsor a keeper to provide this direct care. Our staff works for minimal wages because they are passionate about what they do. They work long hours for the reward of having the animals bond to them and love them back. Keepers are our most valuable human resource. Without them, all the daily grind of prepping food, cleaning up after everyone and making sure everyone has whatever they need to be happy simply cannot get done.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
