Miriam Whitehill's Fundraising Page
As you may know, I have recently moved to Israel with my dog, Leroy, and declared citizenship.
In honor of my aliyah, I am raising money for the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind, located about 20 minutes south of Tel Aviv in Beit Oved. This very awesome organization breeds and trains seeing eye dogs to assist blind Israelis. The dogs are trained with Hebrew commands for Israel's physical environment. The applicants are taught to work with a guide dog on the organization's campus, and they offer home training courses as well. The entire process- from the puppy's birth until it goes home with an applicant- costs about $25,000, none of which is charged to the person who leaves with the dog.
Good Cause? Hell yeah.
My goal is $25,000, enough to breed, train, and set up a guide dog with a blind person.
