2011 Miss. Walleye Club's Fundraising Page

Thank you for visiting the 2011 Dubuque Mississippi Walleye Club's Kids Day fundraising page!!!

Donating through this website is simple, fast, secure and the most efficient way to support our club's fundraising efforts.

The mission of "Kid's Day" is to pass on our love of fishing to kids. Kids Day provides 100 students (Grades 4, 5, & 6) from the Tri-State area (IA, WI, & IL) an opportunity to learn how to fish. Each student is required to prepare an essay on "Why I want to go fishing" The winners are teamed with the club's pros to fish for four hours on the Mississippi River. Last year we had 225 applications with 34 schools (both public and parochial) participating. Your donation is needed to provide each selected student a new rod & reel combination, tackle box & tackle, Kid's Day T-shirt, continental breakfast and lunch. Plaques are awarded to the top ten teams and for the biggest fish.

Quotes from parents of past Kids Day participates:

"My kids not only caught BIG fish, something they have never done before, but also learned some real life values such as patience, quiet time, relaxation, nature, fish stories (real & exaggerated ) that these fine men let my kids experience."

"I have gotten my kids involved in many things within the community in the past years, but nothing has ever compared to this event. It was truly a day for the kids, those involved made sure of that, taking them on their boats, letting them catch the big one, showing off THEIR fish and even going on stage and talking into a microphone."

As a non-profit organization, the mississippi walleye needs your help in raising donations to host this great youth development activity for the kids in the Tri-state area. Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
