A year ago, we learned our older daughter, Shona, had juvenile dermatomyositis, a rare auto-immune disease that affects just 3 children in a million.  We were incredibly fortunate that her disease was diagnosed early, and we are grateful that she is continuing to improve.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for this disease, and since it is so rare, there is virtually no financial incentive for pharmaceutical companies to find a cure. 

Over the past 3 years, Cure JM Foundation has raised over $700,000.  This has helped fund the research of one of Shona's doctors, Dr. Lauren Pachman of Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital.  We hope to help Cure JM Foundation continue to support Dr. Pachman and her research until they find a cure.

So, we ask you, our friends and family, to please help us raise funds by sponsoring us in the Austin Half Marathon taking place on Valentine's Day 2010.   You may either donate online using the link above or you may mail us a check made out to Cure JM Foundation.
