This will be my second year riding for HIV/AIDS awareness. My experience in 2011 was far more moving, difficult, rewarding and incredible than I ever could have imagined. Over 3 days, I pushed my body harder than it’s ever been pushed, and in the process I met some of the most supportive and genuine people in my life. This year, I'm riding to continue to support my friends that have been infected with HIV/AIDS and for the countless others out there that will continue to be infected due to a lack of education and resources available. Over the years, I've seen an increasing complacency surrounding HIV/AIDS awareness and education, which makes the services of Housing Works even more important today. Until HIV/AIDS is eradicated, people of all ages, backgrounds and financial levels need a place where they can go to feel safe and cared for.
