Many of you know my mom - some of you for many years - and you know how amazing and giving of a person that she is. She is constantly doing everything and anything she can to help anyone who needs it - whether it be family, friends, co-workers, students. Without hesitation or question she is ALWAYS there for everyone.

What many of you don't know, is that mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this past year. Thank goodness for routine mammograms! Luckily they found it soon enough and mom has been going through the necessary steps to get herself healthy. As to be expected, mom has an amazingly positive attitude and is not letting this get her down. She has always been a source of strength and courage to those around her, and it's only fair that she receieves that same support . That is why I am doing this run - for my mom. It's the least I can do. It might be a small gesture, but it's an important one to me. Mom's my hero <3
