A "Stormy" Relationship
Hi my name is Morgan and I am 8 years old. I started volunteering with Suncoast Animal League when I was 7. I love all animals; I share my home with 5 dogs (2 of which are foster failures from SAL), 2 gerbils and 3 hermit crabs. When I grow up I want to be the best veterinarian there is. Most Saturdays you can find me volunteering at PetsMart trying to get pups and kittens adopted. I really want to help as many animals as possible. My teachers always tell me to think outside box so I used my birthday money and bought car magnets to sell at PetsMart. I sold all 60 magnets and raised $300 for Suncoast Animal League. Next, I made up some really cute doggy treat bags that I am selling for only $2.00/bag.
Now, I would like to call some attention to Stormy, a 5 yr. old, 40 lb. shepherd/spitz mix. Stormy lived in a homeless camp with a man that was taking care of her. That man was hit by a car and didn't survive so Stormy ran around by herself for a long time. She was finally caught during a really bad storm. Since then, I have been seeing, petting and talking to Stormy every Saturday when I and my mom stop by the shelter to pick up the pups and kittens to go to PetsMart. It has taken a long time for Stormy to start trusting people again. Stormy is still a little shy and might be too nervous to go with us to get adopted. She sits at the shelter waiting for a family to come and make her their forever pet. When she sees me she comes right over to me and I pet her, sometimes walk her and she really seems to understand me when I tell her this may be the week you get to go home. I love the way her curly tail wags when she sees me.
Stormy has been at Suncoast Animal League since July 17th. She was spayed, vaccinated, micro chipped, wormed and given medicine for her bad skin condition. She is better now.
I would like to raise some money for dogs like Stormy in the shelter that really need a little extra than the cute puppies that come and everyone wants.
Can you help me, please?
