LHS partnered with URKY to take many of the dogs from the recent Casey County case. The majority of these sweet dogs are in foster care with current LHS foster parents, while others are under observation in our facility, receiving medical attention from our on-site veterinarian. Once the animals are healthy and happy, they will be placed up for adoption.
It is amazing how these dogs are responding to the TLC they are receiving. Staff and foster parents report how sweet, loving, and fun these dogs are.
Patsy, a black Pekingese, could hardly open her eyes or raise her head when she first arrived at LHS. Her eyes and skin are responding well to treatment. She is now prancing, playing, and doing fabulously. And, she is such a love bug!
Ralph, the bald Pekingese shown in news footage and named by our veterinarian, is thriving in his new foster home. For the first time in a long time, or possibly for the first time ever, he knows the comfort of a fluffy dog bed. He hardly wants to leave his bed, and who can blame him!
There are many other stories, but all carry the same message—with a little love, TLC, and proper medical attention, these dogs are quickly regaining their spirit and warming the hearts of everyone they meet.
Please, help us care for these sweet dogs and the 500 other animals LHS is currently caring for by donating to this fundraising page. Your donation will be put to use immediately to help provide the care these dogs so desperately need! A special thanks to our LHS volunteers and staff for their tireless efforts!
