Hi, my name is Jack and I walked in the Lexington Humane Society’s Mutt Strut this past Monday. I walked the whole course and was extremely excited, but I need your help and I hope you can help me to reach my goal that I set before the event!
You see - it was less than a month ago I was left in the middle of the night, with my sister Jill, in a carrier out in front of LHS. We were so scared and didn’t know where we were or why we were there. I heard so many other animals; It was really, really frightening.
But, we stuck it out together through the night, and thankfully in the morning we heard kind voices telling us it would be okay. And it was.
You see – due to months of neglect, my eyes were so diseased I could barely see. My sister Jill was very sick too. But, the people with the kind voices took care of us and said they would help us feel better.
I was taken to a separate room where they had to remove one of my eyes. I didn’t feel well for a long time. I was sad to be away from my sister while I recovered, but the nice voices made her better while I got better! We are now back together and well on the road to a full recovery.
In my new foster home I have learned to navigate around things; my sister helps show me the way. I love to play with my squeaky toys and the other dogs in the house. I feel really, really loved.
You see – you don’t have to see love to know love.
I am sharing my story with you because I am a Second Chances pup and there are so many others like me that come through the LHS doors each year! The average amount spent on each Second Chances animal is $1,000, so you can see that it's quite expensive. The other animals and myself are counting on your support.
Thanks for listening and visiting my fundraising page. Please do all you can to help me by donating to my fundraising page, it is easy and safe!
And, thanks for all that attended Mutt Strut, it was so nice meeting many of you!
P.S. I will let everyone know when my sis and I find a permanant home TOGETHER!
THANK YOU!
