Thank you for visiting my Personal Fundraising Page.
I didn't learn to ski until later in life and was a very slow learner. One day I was on the chairlift at Sunday River and saw a man skiing with one leg. I said to myself " I have no excuse. If he can do it I can" That man inspired me! Little did I know at that time that I would become involved in a great program teaching disabled people to ski. That was well over 20 years ago. Now I am in my 15th year volunteering with Maine Adaptive Sports and Recreation, formerly Maine Handicapped Skiing. I have met so many wonderful people and made so many lifelong friends. I feel that the program has done more for me than I have for it. It has helped me in my own personal skiing. And I now have quite an extended family that I get to ski with and have fun with every Friday. My Husband Scott is now in his fourth year of volunteering, although he has been involved as long as I have. The Veterans No Boudaries weekend is one of the most exciting times of the Winter. Maine Adaptive Sports provides free lessons to the disabled all Winter and to The Veterans and thier families on the Veterans weekend. Thats where the ski a thon comes in. The money that we raise allows us to keep providing these lessons free of charge. Please pledge me and my team for this years fundraiser. It will be appreciated by many disabled children and adults. And will also support our Veterans. thank you!
