I'm running 13.1 miles to raise funds for Lifespark Cancer Resources. Each mile I run is nothing compared to the steps that cancer patients take on their journey through treatment. Through the Colfax Marathon (half) I'm asking you to help make their daily lives a bit easier.Has my life been affected by cancer? yes. Do I know survivors? Yes. Have I lost friends and loved ones to the disease? yes.
 In the last year alone, I have lost three people in my life to cancer and have two friends who are undergoing treatment. Cancer is financially devastating in addition to being physically and emotionally devastating. And in this economy, when so many people have lost their jobs and their life insurance, it is so important to provide affordable support services.
