Hi, my name is Natalie Hendrickson, I'm 17 years old, I'm a senior at North Moore High School, and I'm holding a fundraiser for The Cancer Research Foundation.
My goal is to raise at least $2000 to donate towards cancer research. In the past three weeks, I've managed to raise $1126.40. If my goal is achieved by this Thursday, May 17th, I will have my head shaved on Saturday, May 19th, at The Cutting Edge in Asheboro, and my hair will be donated to The Locks of Love Foundation.
People are always asking me why I decided to do this, of course, other than the fact that I support the cause; well, my grandmother on my mother's side passed away before I was born due to severe pancreatic cancer, and in February this year my other grandmother found out that she had lung cancer. They've since had the lump, found in her left lung, removed and she's recently started chemotherapy to prevent the return of the cancer. A total of 11 people, on both sides of my family, have passed from cancer, survived cancer, or are currently battling cancer.
Also, several members of my church and school communities have dealt with it in one way or another. There aren't many people in our world who can honestly say, "My life has not been affected by cancer," and I figured it'd be a great time to do something about it, even if it's not much.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
