Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ! I am writing to inform you of the great things that are taking place in my life and about to happen. On July 15 - 29, 2010, I will be leaving for Johannesburg, South Africa on my second mission trip with the Peoples Community Baptist Church. The excitement of going to another part of the world to be used by God is overwhelming! It has been my prayer to be used by God on the mission field to help others that are less fortunate. Last year, I participated in my first mission trip to Kumasi, Ghana. It was a rewarding experience for me to help so many people who are in dire straits. One thing I learned from them is that, despite their ongoing obstacles, they have HOPE. It touched me deeply to see smiles on the faces of the children who seemed to want nothing more than to take pictures all day! I remember the people who waited for hours in the hot sun just to be seen by the medical team about conditions that are easily treatable in the United States. I worshipped with them and noted no difference in their praise compared with mine!

 

           God has been good to all of us, and we sometimes take His goodness for granted. I’m compelled to go and do what I can do, to serve where I can be of service, and to teach and  give of myself. The last commission given by the Lord was the great Commission to go; Matthew 28:19-20 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” This will be the mission of the team as we go into South Africa to serve the people.
