I met Riley (see picture above) through my son Jackson. She is the little sister of one of his classmates, and hockey buddy. She is a wonderful kid! I have been told recently that she has Neurofibromatisis, a genetic disorder of the nervous system that causes tumors to grow on the nerves anywhere in or on the body at any time. NF is linked to disfigurement, learning disabilities, hearing loss, visual impairments, seizures and cancer.
I have committed myself to train and ride "Coast to the Cure", a 100, 60 or 32-mile bike ride so that I can spread awareness about NF, while also raising funds that will help support NF research, families and children. My personal goal is to finish the 60-mile ride (I just digged up my old road bike from the depths of our garage), and at the same time raise funds for NF research.
So, I am asking you to donate to my "Coast to the Cure" 60-mile ride. Please consider donating, and remember that any amount is greatly appreciated. Please help NF, Inc Northeast and the researchers address the issues that can help my little friend Riley and so many others who are affected by this devastating disease live a better, healthier, and more normal life.
With gratitude,
Nathalie
