Man in Overalls Supports Second Harvest Food Bank
Second Harvest of the Big Bend is the largest show in town when it comes to making sure folks around the Bend get enough to eat. They've recently moved into a new facility that will enable them to distribute 2 milion additional pounds of food per year. Wow. Talk about serving the community.
The Food Movement is about shortening the link between seeds and eating food. On an even simpler level, it's about food security; it's about making sure we all get enough to eat. It's about making sure that we all eat well. It's about healthy, affordable food.
Second Harvest has long led the way in this department and, now, faced with a tough economy, they're upping the ante.
So, how about this?
How about we back Second Harvest's move?
How about we grow extra food in our gardens to give to food pantries across the Big Bend?
How about we talk about ways to empower folks to grow their own food and share it?
How about let's see to it that Second Harvest's can afford their new facility?
I'll get things started with $100 bucks.
Give it some thought: can you spare five dollars?
Keep in mind that if I do work for you, I'll match the first $20-$50 of your donation to Second Harvest that's over-and-above the price of my services.
Lasty, know that I thrive on ideas. So, if you have any creative fundraising ideas that I could enact to booster the good work of Second Harvest, I would love to hear them.
