Neda Skific-Lee's Fundraising Page
Dear Friends,
This past August, I was the only Canadian woman to join a women’s only dual-sport motorcycle ride in support of breast cancer research. The idea behind this ride was to gather a group of experienced women road riders and take our skills to the next level through coaching and some 750km of dual sport riding.
What made this experience even more outstanding was its purpose of raising funds and awareness about breast cancer and research towards finding a cure. Having witnessed the trials and tribulations that my mom went through after being diagnosed with breast cancer, the Dirty Dozen ride gave me a unique opportunity to make a difference in hopes of a future without cancer. With support from family, friends and colleagues I was able to raise over $3,000, which contributed to our joint fundraising accomplishment of $45,000 raised for breast cancer research. The Dirty Dozen Adventure for the Cures ride, was organized by New York based Women’s Motorcyclist Foundation - a charitable, educational organization whose efforts to date have been contributed over $2.2 million dollars towards the eradication of breast cancer by funding research. The ride started in Keystone, Colorado and wound its way through the Pike, San Isabel and Gunnison National Forests.
Please visit a diary of my Adventure for the Cure at www.ridedot.com/dozen where you can read more about our ride!
A special thanks goeas out to my Canadian sponsors: Motovan Corporation and BMW Motorcycle Club of Ontario.
