Children's Heart Foundation is a foundation that is close to my heart. I had open heart surgery a few months before my third birthday due to a congenital heart defect. Shana, my "training buddy", is still battling the effects of CHD's. She had an ASD and VSD that were diagnosed within the last couple years. There are more details on both of us in the blog.

1 in 100 children born have a heart defect. Congenital heart defects are the leading cause of death from birth defects for kids under 1 year of age. Almost twice as many children die from congenital heart disease in the United States every year than die from all forms of childhood cancers combined.

1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run. Let's get Augusta done for them! No amount is too big or small!
