Dear XARA Soccer Program,

XARA Soccer has chosen Coaches across Continents, a not for profit development organization that uses soccer as a vehicle for change as our social responsibility partner 2011/2013.

Coaches across Continents work with partner communities in 13 countries, including the USA, to develop locally owned, sustainable programs that encourage social change.  Specific programs develop Soccer for Female Empowerment, Soccer for Health and Wellness incl. HIV and Malaria, Soccer for Conflict Resolution and Soccer for the Environment.

XARA Soccer have selected the the 3 year Hat-Trick Initiative in Accra, Ghana to support through the Give us a Game program.  The Coaches across Continents partner program in Ghana is a youth oriented not-for-profit; non-government organization run by young people committed through empowerment of the youth of Africa with its office located in Accra the capital of Ghana. Started in 2005 but legally registered in 2008 in Ghana, Youth Icons is highly concerned about the continued deterioration of the status of the youth of Africa who face growing levels of unemployment, poverty, armed conflict, disease, functional illiteracy and substance abuse among other socio-economic challenges, despite global advances made in technology, medical research, entrepreneurship development, leisure and recreational facilities.  Our work is geared towards empowering the youth to identify and develop their dreams and own the future. This we seek to achieve by enhancing the lives of youth by expanding learning opportunities available to them, pointing the way to a future full of hope and working together to create that future.

XARA Soccer, XARA Soccer communities and teams, through Coaches across Continents, will train local young people in how to use soccer to change the lives of young people, male and female, in the community.  In 2011, Coaches across Continents will train more than 40 young leaders to work with more than 4,000 children.

We are encouraging all XARA programs to raise money and donate to this amazing project.  Here's how the funds are used with Coaches across Continents.

Equipment Program:  $3,000 per year for three consceutive years funds soccer equipment, school supplies and indestructible soccer balls to allow local coaches to run the program,

Coaching Program:  $9,000 per year for three consecutive years funds1 international coach training local teachers, 1 local coach traveling to the USA and on line mentoring.

Hat-Trick Initiative:  $27,000 per year for three consecutive years funds equipment, 2 international coaches per year, on line mentoring, provision for a safe educational area and local coaches traveling to the USA.
