Thank you for visiting this tribute page for my beloved husband, Nick, who died of pancreatic cancer on December 17, 2010. He was a wonderful man - devoted to me and our children, a loyal and caring friend, a hard working, ethical, dedicated accountant and attorney, caring brother, brother-in-law, son, son-in-law, uncle and great uncle. He touched the lives of all who knew him with his kindness, intelligence, quick wit, and gentle humor. The pancreatic cancer diagnosis was difficult to handle, but Nick maintained a positive attitude throughout surgery and treatment. When metastasis was discovered 15 months after his initial diagnosis, we were both devastated. Nick endured the terrible effects of of this disease with courage and grace. He died peacefully a month before his 64th birthday surrounded by me, our children and daughter-in-law.
There is no early diagnosis method for this terrible disease. Consequently, 95% of the people diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer survive less than two years. The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is doing a great job of advancing research, supporting patients and creating hope for the pancreatic cancer community. Through PanCan's efforts, we have hope that an early diagnosis method AND a cure may be found in the near future.
We hope you will consider helping the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network continue it's efforts to fight this disease and give support to those afflicted by it. We are grateful to all who have sent a donation. Your generosity will help change the outlook for a disease that has robbed too many of our loved ones!
My deepest thanks for your support -- please forward this to anyone who might also be interested in fighting Pancreatic Cancer.
