The Hunger Walk raises money for local and international agencies working to fight hunger. Please support us as we walk to make life better for those who are struggling. According to a September 2009 United Nations report, despite a record level of people suffering from hunger, food aid is at a 20-year low due to the poor global economy. More than 1 billion people across the world will face hunger this year.

In Kent county, the ACCESS food pantry network is serving nearly 25,000 people each month. Due to an increase of new pantry clients, we're serving 7% more people than last year. Currently, Michigan has the highest unemployment rate in the country. In the county, 1 in 5 children is living below the poverty line.
