Q: Why in the month of September?
September is a very difficult month for children and their families that are affected with craniofacial differences. Families with school aged children have an especially difficult time with the start of a new school year. Community awareness helps ease the transition from the safety of their home to the safety of the community.
Why we are walking:
We are forming this walk to bring an awareness and understanding to our community about the social, emotional, mental and physical differences that craniofacial families endure. Our ultimate goal is to create a community that looks beyond facial features and into the heart.
The Gulich family was recently blessed with a benefit to aid in their son’s medical treatments for Apert Syndrome. Apert Syndrome not only affects their son Ryan’s facial features but also his hands and feet. This walk is being spear headed by the Gulich family as a way to give back to others.
