Thank you for supporting our race and our efforts for Compassion's Water of Life! Race Day was a huge success thanks to YOU! We had over 170 registered runners - and your registration fees and fundraising efforts means 110+ Water of Life Units through Compassion International. That's a lifetime supply of safe water for over 7000 people!

The 5K will take place within the beautiful John U Lloyd Beach State Park. You will start on the beach near the Pelican pavilion. Enjoy the amazing view of the ocean as you run/walk the first half of the course along the shore and on beachside trails. After turning around at the halfway point, you will follow trails lined with mangrove trees and then emerge onto the beach for the grand finish.
Event prizes and awards:
- All who register for the 5K before February 18, 2012 are guaranteed an event t-shirt and goodie bag. Registration is not required for the free 1/4 mile kids fun run, nor are they eligible for t-shirts.
- Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over
All proceeds from this event will be given to Compassion International for the purchase and distribution of Water of Life filters to families who do not have access to clean drinking water. Diarrhea caused by drinking contaminated water is one of the single greatest killers of children in the developing world. These filters, which cost $55, can provide safe drinking water for a child and their entire family for a lifetime. They contain no moving or electronic parts and can provide over a million gallons of clean drinking water.
