Hi Everyone,
Thank you for visiting my fundraising site for the Phoenix Children's Hospital (PCH)Miracles in Motion. I am training for the PF Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon (visit the website @ www.rnraz.com) with the Miracles in Motion group that Phoenix Children Hospital put together. We will all be raising money for the Hospital to help them with all the wonderful things that they do. My wife Katie will be helping me raise money because she was planning on running as well but she recently hurt her back and is not going to be able to run.
There are a few different ways you can donate. You can donate on this site by using your credit or debit card or you can send a check directly to PCH at the following address:
Phoenix Children's Hospital Foundation
Attn: Ashley Robison & Vanessa Arviso
2929 E. Camelback Rd, Suite 122
Phoenix, AZ 85016
Please make sure to write "Noah Brocious" in the memo section of the check.
I will also be putting on a Poker Tournament sometime in November to help raise money. At the tournament there will be a traditional raffle. In addition, I will be having a 50/50 raffle at some point between now and the first of the year. These are all in the planning stage, but once they are finalized I will have all the details on this site. If you would like me to send you an email with all the info, please send an email to nbrocious@panattoni.com.
One of the great things that PHC does for the group is that they give us all an Honor Patient. My Honor Patient's name is Emma Beth. Emma is 3 and was born with a congenital heart defect. Here are some other interesting things about Emma:
Favorite Color: Pink
Favorite Animal: Monkeys
Favorite School Subject: playing with classmates, painting, puzzles
Favorite Movie: Blue’s Clues, Sponge bob, and Dora the Explorer
When I grow up I want to be: Big, strong and live my life out loud
If I could go on a vacation anywhere in the world I would go to: Disneyland
Emma’s Story (Written by Emma’s Mom):
Emma spent her 1st 7 mos at PCH due to complications from her heart defect. She had 4 surgeries and 5 heart catheterizations during that time and she was on a breathing tube for the 4 of the 7 months. Since she left the hospital at 7mos, she has had several hospitalizations for various procedures, including heart catheterizations and another heart surgery (in Oct 2006).
It is hard to explain the importance of PCH to my daughter and our family. The staff have become like a 2nd family to us and the comfort and support they provide help make a very scary experience as comfortable and welcoming as possible. Even though we try to avoid going to the hospital as much as possible, we always leave there with our hearts full of love and gratitude for the amazing work they do for my child and other children alike. While we still have at least one major heart surgery on the horizon (sometime in 2009), we are confident that the team of Drs, nurses and other staff members will help make it another successful experience.
Thanks for taking the time to read about this event and about Emma. Myself and Phoenix would really appreciate your support. Have a great day.
Sincerely,
Noah and Katie Brocious
