About a year ago, my boyfriend, Lon Symensma, was diagnosed with melanoma, a very serious form of skin cancer. Last September, after Lon recovered from 2 surgeries, we ran the Boulder Back Roads Half Marathon to raise awareness for this life threatening disease that affects thousands of individuals and families each year.
Thanks to many of you, our team succeeded in raising $11,811.00 to support the Melanoma Research Foundation.
Since then, Lon has decided to open his own restaurant and we moved to Denver, CO about a month ago - shortly after Lon proposed! This year we will run with Team M4M in the Denver Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon. Whether or not it's your first time giving to this cause, please help us continue to support the Melanoma Research Foundation in their fight against this growing epidemic.
