Nora's First Half Marathon!
Hi Everyone!
Back in June I ran my first ever race -- a 5K to benefit the AIDS Action Committee of MA. It was a great experience and I've kept on training since the summer. And now.....I am running a half marathon! You might think I'm crazy to be running in the freezing MA temperatures, but so far training is going really well, and I'm confident that by 2/28 I'll be able to finish the half in a great time. And hey -- average temperature for 2/28 is usually around 38 degrees, so that's not too bad.
This time around I'm raising money to support the Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence, also known as Jane Doe Inc. This non-profit is an umbrella advocacy agency for providers of services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault across the state of Massachusetts. As many of you know, these issues are of utmost importance to me, which is why I chose to fundraise for Jane Doe Inc.
Please consider making a donation, no matter how small, in honor of my race and to motivate me in these last few, hard weeks of training. The support of my family and friends last spring was a huge motivating factor as I trained for my first race, and even though I've improved a great deal as a runner I could still use the moral support. I've designated the lofty goal of $2,500 for my fundraising efforts, but I'm sure that with your help we can go above and beyond that amount.
Wish me luck, and take care!
Nora
