AIDS has decimated the adult population of Mozambique, leaving thousands of orphans in its wake. Many of these orphans have lost all their family and must fend for themselves in the most difficult of circumstances. Fourteen years ago 16 Mozambican women started Reecontro, a grass roots organization that gives love and care to orphans. The amazing thing is that they do this for an average cost of about $68 per child, per year. Led by Olinda Mugabe, Reencontrol has grown from an idea to caring for over 7,000 children. My hope is to partner with as many of you as possible, to financially support as many orphans as we can. Join me on a non-organized fundraising ride or simply donate what is on your heart. Any gift is welcome.
I am riding on the Silver Comet Trail on Saturday, September 29, leaving at 8:00am from the Hiram Trail Head, and riding round trip to the State Line Gateway Park. Please remember that this is an unorganized ride so plan accordingly. If you want to join me for all or part of the way you will be more than welcome.
