My name is Oliver Kay and I am 28 yrs old. I commissioned out of The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in April 2006 and joined 1st Battalion, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment (Armoured Tigers). The PWRR is the finest Infantry regiment in the British Army and I was honoured and proud to serve alongside such professional soldiers. When I moved out to Paderborn in Germany, I was a Platoon Commander for 2 years and then became Second in Command (XO) of A company whilst out on Operation TELIC 13 in Basra, Iraq. I returned from Iraq in April 2009. I resigned my commission and left The British Army on August 1, 2009. I am currently in California to pursue a career as an officer in the U.S. Army. I feel it is important to help veterans.
Running this marathon is a way for me to give something to the Veterans who struggle with problems faced with being away on Operations. Running for Veterans is especially important to me. I am running the Los Angeles Marathon this year in aid of US.Veterans. I am trying to raise as much money as possible to help veterans.
Please donate what you can and help me raise the money to help those who give service to their country.
Thank you for your support. Please let others know about this web site.
