SONC Board is Pulling for Special Olympics!
We need your support! The Special Olympics North Carolina Board of Directors is strengthening our support of Special Olympics by participating in the 2009 Plane Pull on April 25 at the RDU International Airport, and we hope you will join our efforts!
As Board members, we are the volunteer leadership of Special Olympics North Carolina and oversee year-round sports training, competition and leadership programs for more then 38,000 registered athletes across the state. Our involvement allows us to see first-hand how Special Olympics positively impacts participating athletes, family members and our community. We continue to be inspired!
I hope you will join us in pulling for Special Olympics by supporting our team! Funds we raise will help pay for medals and ribbons, competition facilities, coaches' education, and athletic uniforms that are an important part of each athlete's experience.
The Plane Pull challenge will be a test of our strength as our 5-person team will try to pull a 30,000-pound airplane the fastest among all who compete. We don't promise to be the strongest team of the day, but with your support, together we will strengthen opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
Many thanks!
