Support Special Olympics athletes!
'Tis the season! WFMY News is proud to spotlight Special Olympics in its Season of Caring feature as we encourage all Triad area residents to Discover 12 Ways to Give this holiday season.
Bradley Rice has been participating in Special Olympics since he was eight years old, originally in Florida and in recent years through programs offered in Greensboro. He has trained and competed in seven different sports and currently focuses on athletics, basketball and soccer. A high school graduate and former Jr. ROTC member, Bradley is currently enrolled in lifetime learning classes at Guilford Technical Community College. Bradley is also a Special Olympics Global Messenger and in this role serves as an ambassador for Special Olympics, speaking about his experiences to athletes, family members, volunteers and supporters.
Bradley is one of more than 1,700 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Triad registered in year-round sports training and competition programs. Give the gift of JOY this season by supporting these inspiring hometown athletes!
