Area 14 Unified Sports® Volleyball National Championships
We, at Olympic Aide, have a chance to grant dreams to individuals who have been told they “can’t” their entire lives. Some have never had opportunities and their abilities are often referred to as “limited,” not limitless. We understand that we are all created differently; whether our differences are obvious, such as the way we look, or more ambiguous, such as how quickly we learn. While we alone may not be able to make everyone see how unique and special we are due to these differences, through supporting the Special Olympics we are working to promote this realization.
The Special Olympics are a place where people are given the opportunity to break through barriers so they can shine for their community through sport. The joy, pride, and confidence the games bring to a participant is tremendous. Every year, there are about 45,000 Special Olympics competitions throughout the world. As the world’s largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, the Special Olympics offers year-round training and competitions to more than 3.7 million athletes in over 170 countries.
Team Olympic Aide is looking to support the Unified Sports® Volleyball National Championships. However, not all the qualifying athletes have the money to compete at the top of their game. On average, it costs $200 a year for an athlete to participate in Special Olympics programming. This money covers their sport and event equipment, their uniforms, and their travel and training expenses. While this may not seem like much, to the athletes who are able to participate this small amount makes a tremendous difference in their lives.
We invite you to take part in helping us raise $300 for the Special Olympics. The funds will directly support athletes who are in need to cover additional costs such as food, travel expenses or even just the chance to compete. Your donation will help us transform lives through the gift of sport, so please, donate today.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. Your donations will help Area 14 send our volleyball athletes to the National Invitational Competition in Utah over Memorial Day Weekend! Donations will go to Special Olympics- Loudoun County Area 14 in the hopes that our Volleyball team we be able to attend the National Tournament.
