William Marquardt's Fundraising Page
When William was diagnosed with GM1 gangliosidosis, our world fell apart. We were heartbroken, devastated, and felt alone. During this darkest of times, we found the National Tay-Sachs and Allied diseases organization (NTSAD). NTSAD reached out to our family; gave us resources to learn more about the disease and its symptom management; and most importantly, put us in contact with other families who understood the journey we found ourselves on. We were no longer alone.
William was 18 months old when he was diagnosed with GM1. On that day, we never dreamed he would be celebrating his 6th birthday! As William’s big day approaches, and people have asked what they can give him, we could not think of a better gift than to make a donation in William’s honour to NTSAD.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. All funds raised will go toward NTSAD's programs. Through a robust Research Initiative, an annual family conference, a quarterly newsletter, and an incredible network of peers - NTSAD offers compassion, hope and invaluable resources to those families faced with the unimaginable.

UPDATE: September 18, 2011 is NTSAD's FIRST ANNUAL DAY OF HOPE. All money raised on this day will go directly to research to help find a cure for GM1, Tay Sachs, Sandhoff and Allied Diseases.
