Once again, Team Itty Bitty Kitty Committee will be participating in Dog-A-Thon, The Tacoma & Pierce County Humane Society's walk for homeless animals.
The first year we participated, our team started off hoping to raise $3000, and thanks to the amazingly supportive IBKC community, we raised over $23,000!
Year two, we set our goal at $40,000, met it, and once we added in money raised from online auctions, we were over $48,000!
This year, we're setting the bar a little higher, and we're hoping you'll be able to help us reach our goal of $50,000 in online donations by making a contribution to our campaign. My personal goal is to reach $1000 in donations, and add that to Team IBKC's total.
Even though it's called "Dog-A-Thon", all of the money raised by the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee Team will go directly to the cats and kittens. It will help fund the foster and adoption programs, and go towards shelter improvements for the cats. It will fill the shelves of the emergency food bank and reduce the cost of spay and neuter surgeries for pets of lower income families. It will feed and provide medical care for tiny kittens, senior cats, and every cat in between. So, the more we raise, the more we help the cats and kittens!
A little bit about the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee (IBKC) ~ The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee is a blog that chronicles the lives of Tacoma/Pierce County Humane Society kittens fostered by Laurie Cinotto and Craig Miller. Resident house cat Charlene Butterbean lends a paw in the raising of these kittens too. On Saturday, July 23rd you can join more than 1,000 other animal advocates and their four-legged friends for Washington's biggest dog walk -- the 21st annual Dog-A-Thon! Held at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, this fun, family event has something for everyone: A one-mile stroll or a four-mile hike, dozens of pet-related booths, demonstrations, contests, entertainment, a barbeque, and much more!
