The Miami Valley Down Syndrome Association (MVDSA) was established in 1977 as a non-profit organization dedicated to providing resources and support for people with Down syndrome, their families, and their communities.
To achieve this mission, the MVDSA holds an annual Buddy Walk. The Buddy Walk is a one mile awareness walk that assists the MVDSA in promoting acceptance and inclusion of individuals with Down syndrome. Funds raised from the Buddy Walk are used to provide direct services to member families that have a child with Down syndrome including an annual scholarship that may be used for therapies or camps.
In the past six years the Buddy Walk has grown from 200 to 2000 participants and raised over $70,000 in 2009. Please join us in sponsoring our September 25, 2010 Buddy Walk as we continue to make a difference in the lives of people with Down syndrome and "Take Steps for A Brighter Tomorrow!"
